Then, on October 27, Blue Ridge Beef issued aseparate recallon their Breeders Choice raw pet food. This dog food was sold throughout the month of October in multiple states, including Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The reason for this recall was also due to the food testing positive forSalmonella.

The Bottom Line

As of now, these recalls are not directly connected to each other and more information is needed to understand the source of these outbreaks. However, at least one of these dog food products include raw meat, so it’s important to remember the risk of serving and handling raw meat to feed your dog. If your pet food is not recalled, it should still be safe to feed your dog for now. Check the recalls for contact information if you have any direct questions.
