trader joe’s shrimp burger

We have zero beef with the diversification of burger options at supermarkets and restaurants these days. Innovations have come a long way from the red meat-only days, and now you can find everything from poultry-pretending “turkey” burgers and “bleeding” vegan burgersto mushroom risotto patties andbeef-pea protein blends.

Trader Joe’s has recently added a reel (sorry, we couldn’t resist) fresh addition to their freezer case, just in time for summer grilling season: Shrimp Seafood Burgers.

@TraderJoesObsessedprepared them in an air fryer for a “super-easy low-carb lunch.” Think crab cake meets burger with delicious results.

How to Make Homemade Veggie Burgers Like a Pro

Sold for $6.99 for four pescatarian patties, the gluten-free burger is made with farm-raised Pacific White Shrimp, wild-caught pollack, sunflower oil, rice flour, salt, garlic powder and spices. Each burger has 90 calories and provides 13 grams of protein, 4 grams of fat (2 grams are saturated), 1 gram of carbohydrates and 210 milligrams of sodium. For context, that’s about one-third of the calories of aBeyond Burgerand about half the calories of aquarter-pound ground beef burger.

Trader Joe’s suggestsserving the cooked Shrimp Seafood Burgers over mixed greens with their carrot-ginger miso dressing, although you could also tuck one inside a bun or between two slices of bread for an easy seafood sandwich.
