Whenever I shop at Trader Joe’s, my cart usually ends up being 75% snacks. It’s not because I don’t love the rest of the store, it’s just that I love the snack aisles a little bit more—and how could I not? From salty, cheesy snacks to sweet, fruity ones, there’s so much variety to choose from. Plus, I know that whatever I buy will satisfy any snack craving when it strikes. To help you narrow down the possibilities, here are the five snacks I always buy at Trader Joe’s.
Movie Theater Popcorn
The Movie Theater Popcorn from Trader Joe’s ismy No. 1 snack. It has the perfect level of buttery, salty flavor, but it’s not overwhelmingly salty like popcorn from a movie theater concession stand might be. With a serving size of 2 cups, I feel satisfied after eating it, and know that I won’t be mindlessly reaching for something else a few minutes later. If you ever see me at Trader Joe’s, you’re guaranteed to find one of these bright red bags in my cart.
Fancy Cheese Crunchies
My sister introduced me to Fancy Cheese Crunchies earlier this year, and I’ve been a loyal fan ever since. These baked, airy crunchies are reminiscent of Cheetos, a beloved childhood favorite, but with the flavor amped up. They’re cheesy, salty and crunchy, the trifecta of snack qualities. Made with cornmeal and coated in a cheese-and-truffle seasoning along with a black truffle–flavored salt, the result is a savory, umami-rich snack.
Organic Dried Mango Unsulfured & Unsweetened
I’m usually all about salty snacks, but on the rare occasion I find myself wanting something sweet, I reach for these driedmangopieces. While I love the natural sweetness of the fruit, my favorite part of the snack is its texture. Each piece is slightly chewy, and it has a nice bite to it. If I’m not mindful, I could easily eat the whole bag (which may have happened once or twice). If you like the taste of mango, but are looking for something less chewy, Trader Joe’s also sells sweetened Soft & Juicy Mango, which is just as delicious.
Roasted Seaweed Snack
Ridge Cut Potato Chips with Salt & Pepper
If I had to choose just one flavor of potato chips to eat for the rest of my life, these Ridge Cut Potato Chips with Salt & Pepper would be a strong contender. The classic combination of salt and pepper is delicious on its own, but there’s one ingredient that takes these chips to the next level: jalapeño powder. The pepper powder adds a pleasant, fresh kick to these chips, but the heat isn’t overwhelming. In fact, the mild spice is what keeps me coming back for more. But if pepper isn’t your thing, Trader Joe’s also has Ridge Cut Potato Chips with Sea Salt.
