3teaspoonsall-purpose flour, divided, plus more for rolling

Directions

Stir self-rising flour and yogurt together in a medium bowl until a shaggy dough forms. Dust a work surface with 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour; knead the dough until smooth, about 3 minutes. Cover the dough with a dish towel and let rest until ready to use.

Stir cream cheese, chives and lemon zest together in a small bowl until combined. Place everything bagel seasoning in a separate small bowl. Place 1 tablespoon water in a separate small bowl.

Preheat a 6-quart air fryer to 350°F for 10 minutes. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions, about 1 ounce each. Cover the dough balls with a dish towel. Lightly dust the work surface with the remaining 2 teaspoons flour. Roll 1 dough ball into a 3½-inch round using a flour-dusted rolling pin; transfer to a large parchment-paper-lined baking sheet. Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.

Whisk egg and the remaining 1 tablespoon water together in a separate small bowl until smooth. Brush each filled dough ball with egg mixture. (Discard remaining egg mixture.)

Dip each dough ball into the everything bagel seasoning, turning until well coated. Return to the baking sheet. Arrange the coated dough balls in a single layer in the air-fryer basket; cook, undisturbed, until light golden brown on all sides, 4 to 6 minutes.(Alternatively, to bake the bagel bites, preheat oven to 375°F. Place the prepared bagel bites on a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet, spaced evenly apart. Bake until light golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes.)

It’s made from wheat that has less gluten than all-purpose and is typically used for tender baked goods.
