1teaspoongrated lime zest

⅛teaspoonkosher salt

¼cuplime juice (from 2 limes), divided

½cupice, plus more for glasses

2ouncesreposado tequila

1ounceorange liqueur

2teaspoonsagave syrup

Lime wheels for garnish (optional)

DirectionsCombine lime zest and salt on a small shallow plate. Place 2 tablespoons lime juice on a separate shallow plate. Dip rims of 2 rocks glasses into the lime juice, then dip into the salt and zest mixture, coating the rims with the mixture. Add ice to each glass.Photographer: Jen Causey, Food Stylist: Jennifer WendorfTransfer the remaining lime juice from the plate to a cocktail shaker; add 1/2 cup ice, tequila, orange liqueur, agave syrup, the remaining salt and zest mixture from the plate and the remaining 2 tablespoons lime juice. Cover and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Strain the mixture evenly into the prepared glasses.
