There’s an active recall on 18 types of plant-based milk products sold across Canada, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.This is due to aListeria monocytogenescontamination.
If you have one of the above almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk or other plant-based milk products, dispose of it immediately or return it to your place of purchase. This recall was announced after multiple illnesses were reported to be associated with the consumption of the affected beverages, which led to an investigation that resulted in a positive test of the foodborne illness.
Common symptoms ofListeria monocytogenesinfection (aka listeriosis) include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.In more severe cases, symptoms may include headache, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions. If you are experiencing any of these signs after consuming one of the above recalled products, contact your health care provider as soon as possible.
