Sandra A. Gutierrez has written, taught and presented about Latin American food and Southern regional cuisine for the past three decades. She is a national expert on Latin American cuisines, their history and evolution, and Southern regional cuisine. She’s the former food editor for The Cary News, and her articles and recipes have been featured in many national and international publications.
Sandra’s work and life story was celebrated in the Gateways/Portales exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. She is a frequent speaker at conferences, universities and literary festivals, and she has appeared in numerous television shows. Over the last three decades, Sandra has taught thousands of people how to cook.
