There’s an active recall on select BrightFarms brand spinach and salad kits, according to theFood and Drug Administration.This is due to potential contamination; the products may containListeria monocytogenes.

Check your refrigerator, and if you have any of the above products that match the recall information, dispose of the product immediately or present a photo of the product or receipt to the place of purchase for a full refund before discarding.

Exposure toListeriacan cause a contagious infection known aslisteriosis. Common symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Young children, those age 65 and older and those with weakened immune systems may experience more severe symptoms, and it can be life-threatening.

While there are no illnesses connected to this recall, if you believe you have been infected after consuming one of these products, contact your health care provider as soon as possible.
