Approximately 383,240 Fridigaire refrigerators are being recalled nationwide due to choking and laceration hazards, according to theConsumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall was announced after the company received 343 reports of plastic pieces from the internal ice machine breaking off, which has resulted in two incidents of laceration and ingestion injuries when the pieces were dispensed out of the ice bucket. If you have also experienced illness or injury due to this malfunction, talk to your health care provider.
If your refrigerator matches the recall information, stop using the ice bucket and dispenser. You can request a replacement for the ice bucket through thecompany’s recall websitefree of charge.
