Approximately 32,820 jars of kimchi were recalled in 10 states, according to Food Safety News and the Food and Drug Administration.This is due to high levels of yeast growth in the product.
If your kimchi matches the above recall information, dispose of it or return it to its place of purchase for a refund. According to the FDA, high levels of foodborne yeasts and molds can be hazardous when consumed because they can develop mycotoxins.This can cause infections and can be dangerous for immunocompromised individuals, young children and those age 65 or older.
After eating the recalled kimchi, if you are experiencing any signs of illness, contact your health care provider immediately.
