There’s an active recall on approximately 287,300 air fryers sold in the U.S. and Canada, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This is due to a fire, burn and laceration risk.
“The air fryers can overheat, causing the handles to melt or break, posing fire and burn hazards,” the CPSC states in therecall announcement. “Additionally, the air fryer ovens can overheat and the glass on the door can shatter, posing fire, burn and laceration hazards.”
While there are no injuries connected to this recall, there are 24 reports of the affected air fryers overheating, causing the appliance to melt or shatter glass. Of these, 6 have reported their air fryer catching on fire.
