Earlier this week TreeHouse Foods, Inc. recalled several varieties of frozen waffles due to possibleListeria monocytogenescontamination. According to the Food and Drug Administration, that recall has now expanded to include frozen pancakes following additional testing.

A complete list of the recalled products can be foundhere, and consumers are advised to compare the “Best By” date, lot code and UPC to identify whether their purchases are included. There is also alist with photosof the affected products that you can check against what you have in your freezer.
TheListeriacontamination was discovered after routine testing occurred at the company’s manufacturing facility.Symptoms ofListeriainfectionsinclude fever, vomiting, nausea, headaches and neck stiffness. Elderly people, young children, those with weakened immune systems and people who are pregnant are most at risk of life-threatening illness due toListeria.
Fortunately, there have been no reported illnesses due to the contamination. If you experience symptoms ofListeriainfection after consuming any of the recalled waffles, you should contact your health care provider.
