There’s an active recall on meal kits sold nationwide, according to the Food and Drug Administration.This is due to aSalmonellacontamination.
Over 30 Different Salad and Veggie Products Recalled Due to Salmonella Contamination
The Sam’s Club meal kits were sold nationwide, whereas the Sprouts meal kits were sold in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
If you have one of the impacted gyro meal kits on hand, dispose of it immediately or return it to your place of purchase for a refund. These products are being recalled due to the included tzatziki sauce containing cucumbers that have beenconnected to a nationwideSalmonellaoutbreak. If you purchased one of the recalled meal kits, you should not consume any part of the kit, as there is a possibility of cross contamination.
Salmonellainfection(salmonellosis) can cause symptoms like diarrhea, stomach pain, headache, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. These symptoms can last up to seven days after infection. If you are experiencing signs of illness after eating the contaminated meal kits, talk to your doctor. Be sure to wash your hands and properly clean any surfaces in contact with potentially infected products after handling.
