Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. Cover and refrigerate this salad for up to 2 days, and then toss it right before serving to help freshen it up. You can store leftovers the same way for another 3 days, but of course the salad won’t be as fresh-tasting with each passing day.
When shopping for produce such ascucumbersandtomatoes, look for ones that are fresh, vibrant in color and free from blemishes, soft spots or mold. Cucumbers should feel firm, and medium-size tomatoes should be heavy and not soft. If you won’t be using the tomatoes for a few days, choose slightly firmer ones so they’ll ripen nicely when you use them in the salad.
Yes, and it’s great way to use freshly picked herbs from your garden. This salad would go well with a light sprinkle of torn basil leaves, snips of parsley or oregano.

Percent Daily Value (%DV) found on nutrition labels tells you how much a serving of a particular food or recipe contributes to each of those total recommended amounts. Per the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the daily value is based on a standard 2,000 calorie diet. Depending on your calorie needs or if you have a health condition, you may need more or less of particular nutrients.
