Linda took her first cooking class at the age of 7, and almost 40 years later she went to culinary school and worked in the Michelin-starred restaurant Mourad before bringing her new skills back to the world of medicine. She is now the director of lifestyle medicine and director of culinary medicine at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, where she founded a teaching kitchen for patients called Thrive Kitchen. She has served as faculty at the University of California, San Francisco, and Stanford University, and she serves on the boards of the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative, Meals on Wheels of San Francisco and the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.
