DirectionsBring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Prepare a large bowl of ice water. Add beans to the boiling water; boil for 3 minutes. Drain the beans and immediately transfer to the ice water; let stand for 2 minutes. Drain well and pat dry with paper towels.Heat oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shallot; cook, stirring often, until softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the beans and garlic; cook, stirring often, until the beans are tender-crisp, about 4 minutes.
