Lauren Salkeld is a New York City-based writer and editor focusing on food and lifestyle content and specializing in recipes and cookbooks. Lauren regularly tests recipes for The New York Times and has written for EatingWell, The Kitchn, Today, Food & Wine, MyRecipes, Tasting Table, Chocolatier and other publications and websites.
She manages part of the Harvest Time in Harlem program at the Storefront Academy, where elementary school children are introduced to local and seasonal ingredients, healthy eating and cooking.
Lauren spent eight years at Epicurious, overseeing recipe development, testing and editing, as well as writing and editing features with the likes of Dorie Greenspan, Melissa Clark, Ina Garten, Gabrielle Hamilton, Sam Sifton and Rose Levy Beranbaum. Before that, Lauren was on staff at Bon Appétit and earned a Grand Diploma in Pastry Arts from The French Culinary Institute. She’s also appeared on CNN, Weekend Today in New York and CBS New York’s 2 in the Kitchen, as well as in the Epicurious Summer Entertaining Video Series.
