I’m akitchen gearaficionado, but even I have a short list of truly essential, coveted items in my collection. Among that list will always bemy KitchenAid stand mixer. As a former pastry cook, I find this tool indispensable. It’s consistent, easy to use, and allows me to multitask. I’m in the market for a new mixer since I’ve been using my family’s 20-year-old model, which my mom deserves to have back. Because of that, I’m always looking for models that pique my interest, andthe brand’s latest launchhas surely…grabbed my attention.

The brand came out with an all-new design-forward mixer aptly named Evergreen. I absolutely love the mixer itself since it’s splashed with a mid-toned mossy green that was practically made for me. And the brass and leaf accents just take it one step further toward perfection. But, the walnut bowl is where they lost me. After bringing it up with the team, I quickly realized we were split. Some of us loved everything about the mixer, while others, like myself, weren’t so sure.

I love the design of this KitchenAid mixer. It has a high-powered 10-speed range for control for whatever recipe you need. There’s also a locking tab on the other side, which ensures the mixer stays in place. The head tilts up, just like the mixer I own—this feature is so essential, because it makes it easy to scrape the bowl, add ingredients, or remove the bowl after mixing. It comes with three essential attachments: a whisk, a dough hook and a paddle. Use them to makewhipped cream, cake batter or bread doughs with ease. Along with the forest-inspired evergreen color, the mixer has a unique brass hub cover that’s stamped with a leaf design that is so chic. You can buy 10 different accessories to attach to the hub, likespiralizersorpasta makers.

No matter where you stand, there’s no denying these two things: The brand nailed the inspiration, and the unique bowl will require consistent care. Personally, I will always stick to my mixer with astainless steel bowl. These materials are why the two-decade-old KitchenAid I have is still truckin’ with no extra maintenance. It’s also just extremely easy to keep clean from recipe to recipe, which is important for a constant baker like myself.

You can shop this brand-new mixer atKitchenAidorWilliams Sonomabefore it sells out. If you’re looking for a new mixer, we’ve listed some of our team’s favorite mixers below. Either way, now’s the best time to grab one if you’re in the market, since we’re finally in peak baking season.
