Gastroenterologist andcookbook authorWill Bulsiewicz, M.D., just shared some of his insights with us in a new Instagram post.
“You have been hearing from others that any bloating at any time is a problem, and I’m here to tell you that that is ridiculous,” Bulsiewicz said in the recent video. “Speaking as a gastroenterologist, we all get bloated sometimes, myself included. The question is: where do we draw the line where we say enough is enough, this is too much bloating?”
Here’s what the gut doctor has to say about this frequently asked question.
Let’s cut to the chase: Bulsiewicz lists the ways to know when your body is telling you that the bloating has become too much.
“When the symptoms turn chronic, when they are negatively affecting your quality of life, when you live in fear of specific foods or you’re being forced to change behaviors within your life, then you know that the bloating has become too much of a problem,” he explained.
“Bloating should not be such a problem that is affecting your quality of life and you can’t have the enjoyment that you deserve,” Bulsiewicz emphasized at the end of the video.
