Earlier this week, Hilary Duff got real about her current diet. She also mentioned that her menu includes “bread, chocolate and wine.” Upon hearing that, we immediately moved the actress and mom of two near the top of our dream celebrity dinner date list. (Just behind José Andrés,Ina Garten,Martha Stewart,LizzoandReese Witherspoon, naturally).

Compared to moredrastic diets like ketothat nearly eliminate one food group, or others such asWhole30that have a “good food” and “bad food” list, we love that all foods and drinks are “allowed” on macro-focused plans. (But it’s crucial to remember tochoose quality sources of the macronutrientsthe majority of the time for optimal health and to prevent chronic diseases.)

These Are the 4 Most Popular Diets of 2020

Based on Duff’s recent interview with our sister publicationHealth, it seems like she has a nice, sustainable yet nutritious balance alongside that bread and chocolate. To stay (mostly) on the high-quality food track, Duff meal-preps items like sweet potatoes, grilled chicken, rice and fresh fruit for snacks and salad additions on weekends. She also finds new meal inspiration on the food blogSkinnytaste, including a recent family fave:Lighter Eggplant Parmesan.

“You just have to get creative and figure out what you like and what you’re actually going to dip into instead of just grabbing something. Because really the reality is I want to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches all day long,” Duff toldHealth. (Celebs, they’re just like us!)

She’s been keeping active withNovo Body, a Los Angeles-based fitness studio that combines cardio, strength training and core challenges in high-intensity group—or now, thanks to the pandemic, Zoom workouts.

“I know it’s extra hard to keep up and find normalcy in quarantine, but I truly hope you make at least 30 mins a day for yourself to stay connected,” Duff suggested in her Instagram post caption.

So what does that mean for her, besides a glass of wine or a workout?

A warm bath withessential oilsand flower petals in the water, Duff revealed toHealth. “It is the most delightful, girly time that you could spend with yourself.”
